Election Night Ziti Dinner Recap


Geneva, N.Y. – On Tuesday, November 3, 2015, the Kiwanis Club of Geneva held its annual Election Night Ziti Dinner and bake sale in conjunction with Cozy Days Christen Preschool. The event was hosted at the Geneva Community Center, and children participating in after school programs through the Boys and Girls Club volunteered to help setup and prepare dinners.

Both dine-in and takeout options were available, and many patrons enjoyed their meals at the Community Center while catching up with friends and neighbors after voting. Dinners included ziti, meatballs and sauce, salad and dressing, bread and butter, and a drink.

In addition to the meals sold, the Kiwanis Club and Cozy Days were able to prepare and serve approximately 50 dinners to the Boys and Girls Club children and staff members for no charge.  Leftovers, including salad, ziti and sauce, and baked goods were also donated to the Boys and Girls Club. 

Proceeds from the event will be applied to Kiwanis initiatives and the construction of a new playground at Cozy Days.

Election Nigh Ziti Dinner




Geneva, N.Y. -- From 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, the Kiwanis Club of Geneva, NY and Cozy Days Christian Preschool will be sponsoring the Kiwanis Club's annual Election Night Ziti Dinner at the Geneva Community Center on Carter Road. Dinners include ziti, meatballs and sauce, salad and dressing, bread and butter, and a drink. There will also be a bake sale on site. The meal prices are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors (65+), and $6.00 for children. Dine-in, take-out, and limited delivery options are available.

Proceeds will be applied to Kiwanis initiatives and the construction of a new playground at Cozy Days.

Reestablished in 2014, the Kiwanis Club of Geneva has been busy volunteering at events in Geneva and throughout the Finger Lakes region. Adopt-A-Highway Project



Geneva, NY -- On Saturday, October 17, 2015, members of the Kiwanis Club of Geneva, NY volunteered to cleanup rubbish along the club's designated section of Routes 5&20 between Sutton Road and Reed Street in Geneva. The cleanup project is administered through the New York State Department of Transportation's Adopt-a-Highway program.

The Kiwanis Club of Geneva cleans its designated section of Routes 5&20 on a semi-annual basis. On Saturday, members participating in the cleanup included Don Cass, Bob and Wendy Krebbs, Patrick Grimaldi, and Chris Van Kirk. Marianne Gallagher of the Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua also assisted.

Geneva Fireman's Parade

Geneva, New York -- On Saturday, July 11, 2015, members of the Kiwanis Club of Geneva marched in the annual Geneva Fireman's Parade in downtown Geneva. The parade was well attended. Crowds of people lined the parade route to support the area fire departments.

Adopt-a-Highway

Geneva, New York -- On Saturday, June 6, 2015, the Kiwanis Club of Geneva volunteered through the Adopt-a-Highway program to pickup trash and debris along Routes 5&20 between Sutton Road and Reed Street in Geneva. The club has volunteered to maintain this section of roadway on a semi-annual basis.

Prior to participating in the program, members of the club were trained by a representative of the New York State Highway Department.

Chicken BBQ Fundraiser

April 11, 2015

Geneva, NY -- On Saturday, April 11, 2015, the Kiwanis Club of Geneva held a chicken barbecue to raise proceeds to send Geneva area children to Kamp Kiwanis. Each summer, the Kiwanis Club sends kids to the week-long camp for no charge to the children. Kamp Kiwanis is located in Adirondack Park, and aims to provide kids with fun, physical exercise and adventure.

Despite the chilly conditions, the rain held off and there was a strong turnout for the event. Ace Automatics did such a great job cooking the chicken that some folks came back for seconds!

Early estimates indicate that at least 300 meals were sold.

Easter Egg Hunt!

Geneva, N.Y. -- On Saturday, April 4, 2015, the Kiwanis Club of Geneva and the Salvation Army hosted an Easter egg hunt for Geneva area children. The event featured an appearance by the Easter Bunny, and a live DJ! There was no charge for children and families to participate, and the Kiwanis Club served about 85-100 children.

In addition to collecting Easter eggs filled with candy, every child received a raffle prize, a package of apple sauce, and a free coupon for a Frosty Dessert. The Kiwanis Club sincerely appreciates the generous donations from Wegmans, Walmart, the Salvation Army of Geneva, P.A.D.J. Music Service, and Wendy's. Several members of the Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua also graciously volunteered at the event.
